This piece explores cross rhythms from Africa, tanguillos rhythms from Cadiz, shuffle grooves and finally bulerias rhythms. In addition to the main Cajon sounds (bass, tone, tip, slap), this piece also uses foot pulses and hand clapping in certain sections.
This piece is for a Cajon ensemble of 9 players, with 3 players in each group (Group A, B and C). It can be modified to be played with smaller or larger groups. Students should be at a pre-intermediate/intermediate level. Duration is approximately four minutes.
